The Candy 4WAY Phonics
CVC TRIPLE File Folder Game Package
Just $4.97- and
Look What You'll Receive!
THREE GAMES IN ONE PACKAGE!
Did you know that approximately 62% of the English
language
is made up of short-vowel words and syllables?
So learning to fluently sound out three-letter,
short-vowel words (CVC words)
gives children an immediate
head start in reading!
Therefore, we at Candy
4WAY Phonics are delighted to introduce you to
a brand new Triple CVC Phonic Game Package
to carry your child from two-letter
blends onto three-letter, short vowel words,
ending with plenty of
advanced practice adding on varied consonant endings.
Three PDF Phonics CV and CVC File Folder
Games
For just $4.97
The
Candy 4WAY Phonics TRIPLE PDF File Folder CVC Game
Package contains three consonant-vowel-
consonant (CVC) Games that
build children from beginning two-letter blends into three-letter words
containing a short vowel, and on into CVC words with
varied consonant-letter endings. These three games
combine over 50
two-letter blends and 176 game cards that contain graduated practice in
blending
CVC words.
In addition, parents and teachers can select
specific game cards for each game in order to “target”
particular blends as
well as explicit trouble spots for children. The game cards can also be used
as
flashcards for one-on-one practice or small-group instruction.
At Candy 4WAY Phonics, we believe that children
are gravely lacking in phonemic awareness skills.
Moreover, we solidly
propose that the whole idea behind the development of phonemic awareness
skills is
to give children all the skills
necessary to sound out and
authentically read three-letter CVC words with
short-vowel sounds.

At Candy 4WAY Phonics,
we do NOT
believe that children should begin their reading adventure by
memorizing words from the Dolch Sight Word
List. We do NOT
believe that children build fluency by
memorizing a page of text and
learning to read that page faster and faster.
We DO believe
that children develop fluency in the same way they learn to ride a bike:
step-by-step,
blending the steps together, practicing those blending steps
over and over until, at last, “practice makes
perfect!” You see, a child
learns to ride a bicycle by first sitting up on the seat and extending his
feet down
to the pedals. He then learns to push the pedals around with his
feet while a parent or older sibling
steadies the back of the bike while
running alongside him. Soon, that child learns to blend together the
correct
seating position, the proper turn of the pedals, and the accurate
front-wheel steering until he/she
can balance the bike with poise, fervor,
and confidence.
In the same way, young children learn to read by first learning the alphabet
letter sounds (not the alphabet
letter names, but the sounds that the
letters stand for). Next, they learn to blend those sounds together,
and
with repeated practice in sounding out all the blends in the words from left
to right, fluent reading
begins to take shape. Before they know it, they can
recognize every word
on every page
instantly and
accurately. Children who learn to sound out words know for
certain all the
individual letter sounds as well
as all the letter blend sounds.
Thus, phonetically-trained children become boys and girls who are able to
read every word
on every page.
When those children become adults, they have no fear of approaching new
words either privately or
publicly. They become adept readers of
any text whether it be
a newspaper, a college textbook, or a lab
report. And their skills began way
back when they were young – when they learned that letters stand for
sounds
and that those sounds can be blended together to create three-letter,
short-vowel CVC words.
THE ORDER OF THE GAMES.
Children should master the concepts in one game before moving on to the
next
game. (Note – the Candy 4WAY Phonics Program
gives children additional systematic phonics
training by providing
step-by-step, daily 4WAY Phonics
lessons and readers).
The first game in
this package gives children practice blending an initial consonant with a
vowel
(CV blends).
The second game
in the package gives children the review they often need to distinguish
between the
vowel sounds, blending an initial consonant with a vowel (CV
blends) through the use of blend ladders,
and reading through CVC words
while noting the vowel sound in each word.
The third game in
the package gives children practice sounding out CVC words with varied
three-letter,
short vowel consonant
endings.
